When Padel Meets the Future: Creating Blokotech’s Rome Padel Tour Video
Rome has always been a city of spectacular confrontations. For the latest Bloko Padel Tour campaign, we decided to imagine a very different kind of battle: a padel player facing a robot inside the Colosseum.
Following previous editions of the Bloko Padel Tour around the world, the competition heads to Rome on November 2, 2026, bringing the iGaming community together once again around sport, networking and entertainment.
To promote this new edition for Blokotech, Fortuna Labz created a new social media video designed to combine the heritage of Rome with a futuristic visual universe.
And this time, man meets machine.
Turning Rome Into a Padel Arena
The starting point of the creative concept was simple: how could we immediately make the Rome edition recognizable while creating something unexpected enough to stop people scrolling?
The answer was one of the most iconic locations in the world: the Colosseum. But instead of recreating a traditional Roman scene, we transformed the legendary arena into the setting for a futuristic padel match.
On one side: a human player. On the other: a humanoid robot.
The contrast between ancient Rome, modern sport and futuristic technology became the central visual idea of the campaign. Rather than simply displaying event information, the objective was to create a short cinematic story capable of generating curiosity before revealing the Bloko Padel Tour Rome Edition.
AI-Assisted Production, Driven by Creative Direction
Artificial intelligence played an important role in the production process, but it remained exactly that: a production tool.
The creative concept, storytelling, visual direction, editing, compositing, branding and final execution were developed and controlled by our creative team.
AI-assisted tools helped us explore and produce visual sequences that would otherwise require complex physical production environments, particularly the scenes involving the Colosseum, the futuristic robot and the padel confrontation.
This workflow allowed us to experiment faster with framing, environments and cinematic situations while maintaining a consistent creative direction throughout the video.
For us, this is where AI becomes particularly interesting for branded content: not as a replacement for creativity, but as another tool available to creative teams to produce ideas that would previously have been difficult, expensive or time-consuming to execute.
Ancient Rome Meets Futuristic Storytelling
One of the challenges was finding the right balance between three very different visual worlds. The architecture and atmosphere of Rome needed to remain instantly recognizable.
The padel sequences needed to communicate movement, competition and energy. And the robot needed to introduce a futuristic dimension without turning the video into a pure science-fiction film.
By combining AI-assisted imagery, visual effects, editing and motion design, we were able to connect these elements into one coherent piece of branded storytelling.
The result turns Rome itself into part of the Bloko Padel Tour universe.
Created for Social Media in Multiple Formats
The campaign was conceived from the beginning as a multi-format digital production.
A high-resolution 4K version was produced alongside formats specifically adapted for social media, including vertical Story and Reel executions. This is increasingly important when producing event content.
A campaign can no longer be designed around one single screen or platform. The same creative idea needs to work across LinkedIn, Instagram, websites, event communication, digital displays and other promotional touchpoints.
By integrating these requirements directly into production, we can preserve the visual impact of the original concept while adapting framing, composition, typography and pacing to each format.
Creative Production for the iGaming Industry
At Fortuna Labz, we create visual campaigns for iGaming brands looking to extend their presence beyond traditional advertising.
From AI-assisted filmmaking and CGI to motion design, FOOH, event content and our Drive To Booth™ activations, our goal is to create digital experiences that attract attention before, during and after major industry events.
The Bloko Padel Tour Rome video is another example of how technology, storytelling and strong creative direction can turn an event announcement into content people actually want to watch.
