SBC Summit Malta 2026: Why Human Connections Still Matter in iGaming

From April 28th to 30th, 2026, the Fortuna Labz team attended the latest edition of the SBC Summit, hosted at the InterContinental Malta in the heart of St Julian’s. In an industry driven by innovation, AI, technology, and constant digital communication, SBC Malta once again reminded everyone of something essential: real relationships are still built face-to-face.

Malta: A Natural Hub for the iGaming Industry

There is a reason why Malta continues to play such an important role in the global iGaming ecosystem. Beyond its regulatory history and international business environment, Malta has become a true meeting point for operators, providers, affiliates, platforms, marketers, and creatives from all over the world. During SBC Summit Malta, the entire city seems to transform into a giant networking space where conversations continue far beyond the exhibition floor.

From hotel lobbies to rooftop events, restaurants, lounges, and private meetups, every location becomes an opportunity to exchange ideas, create partnerships, and strengthen long-term relationships.

A Smaller Event, But a More Human Experience

One of the strengths of SBC Summit Malta is precisely its format. Compared to some of the industry’s massive international expos, the Malta edition feels more intimate, accessible, and genuinely social. The scale of the event allows attendees to truly explore the stands, take meaningful time with exhibitors, and engage in conversations that go beyond quick introductions.

The exhibition floor offered a strong mix of operators, suppliers, affiliate businesses, and technology companies, alongside high-quality conference sessions led by experienced industry experts.

At Fortuna Labz, we particularly enjoyed revisiting the impressive presence of Alea, whose booth once again created a welcoming meeting area right at the entrance of the event. The stand also welcomed a visit from the minister Silvio Schembri during the summit.

We also spent time at the dynamic booth of BetWinner Affiliates, where the interactive atmosphere perfectly reflected the playful spirit of the industry.

Another standout presence was Notix Games, whose elegant setup and fully reunited team brought strong energy to the exhibition floor.

Throughout the event, we also had the pleasure of meeting the teams from Z-Gaming and Gamecheck.

The Real Value of Industry Events

In today’s world, it is easy to schedule video calls, send emails, or connect through LinkedIn. But events like SBC Malta prove that physical presence still carries unmatched value.

Seeing people in real life changes the quality of conversations. It creates trust faster. It allows spontaneous exchanges. It strengthens partnerships that may already exist digitally and opens the door to completely unexpected opportunities.

One of the most interesting aspects of the iGaming industry is how international it truly is. Throughout the year, professionals constantly reconnect across cities and countries, from London to Barcelona, Dubai, Malta, and beyond.

SBC Summit Malta captured that feeling perfectly: a professional event, but also a place where long-term relationships continue to grow.

Networking Beyond the Exhibition Hall

Some of the best moments of the week happened outside the conference itself. We especially appreciated the rooftop networking event hosted by Gamanza Group AG, which offered a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views over Malta, the perfect setting for authentic conversations with industry professionals.

These informal moments are often where the strongest connections happen.

Because ultimately, the iGaming industry is not only powered by technology, platforms, or games. It is powered by people.

BlokoPadel: Sport, Networking and Industry Energy

Another highlight surrounding SBC Malta was the growing success of the padel tournament series organized by Blokotech in collaboration with SiGMA Group. More than just a sports competition, BlokoPadel has become a real networking experience for the iGaming community, combining business relationships, competition, lifestyle, and informal exchanges in a much more relaxed environment.

The 2026 edition is structured around four international events bringing together professionals from across the industry. Following the Malta stop, the final two tournaments of the season will take place in:

Miami in June 2026
Rome in November 2026 for the grand finale

The initiative perfectly reflects the evolution of modern networking in iGaming: creating stronger human connections through shared experiences beyond conference halls and meeting rooms.

In many ways, events like BlokoPadel demonstrate that today’s industry relationships are built as much on energy, community, and authentic moments as they are on business discussions themselves.

Final Thoughts

SBC Summit Malta 2026 once again demonstrated why industry gatherings remain essential in a rapidly evolving digital world. The event combined business opportunities, insightful conferences, quality networking, and the unique atmosphere of Malta itself, a place that continues to stand at the center of the global iGaming conversation.

For Fortuna Labz, it was another valuable opportunity to reconnect with partners, discover new creative perspectives, and continue building relationships across the industry.

And perhaps most importantly, it was a reminder that while technology continues to evolve rapidly, human connection remains the real engine behind meaningful business growth.
